Phase 1 (4.5 months):

This phase is designed for deeper skill-building in civil procedure and litigation support. This course includes:

• Advanced witness statement drafting, including formatting, structuring evidence, incorporating issues like hearsay, expert evidence and anticipating cross-examination
• Develop comprehensive legal argumentation and identifying complex legal grounds for various claims 
• Managing pre-action protocols, timelines and correspondence with opposing lawyers
• Preparing case summaries, chronologies, trial bundles and disclosure lists
• Real-world file preparation, tracking, and correspondence under lawyer supervision

Phase 2 (4.5 months):

Students will be taught by civil lawyers who will share insights from their practice, helping students bridge the gap between theoretical law and practical realities. Students will work more independently under supervision during this longer internship. They will gain deeper involvement in drafting, court preparation, and client interactions, working with law firm. The extended 4.5-month placement allows students to take greater responsibility in assisting solicitors on case preparation and client communication.
